A Year of Significance

Adventures in oversharing my possibly wonked perspectives on whatnot

The Guest Topic Project for fun, gratification and no personal profit

Yay COVID-19… Sigh…

I’m taking advantage of Wisconsin’s Stay-At-Home-Order-Or-Spread-Your-Filthy-Germs-and-Make-People-Die to stretch my writing wings and asked Facebook friends for writing topics. These are a real departure for me but I’m having  fun and learning a few new things along the way.

I typically write – with absolutely no exceptions that I can think of – based on my personal connection to the subject. So, that’s what I’m doing. I may do some research on the subject or not. These aren’t scholarly treatises. Gak. Boring.

People who’ve never before been drawn to this blog via an inclination to poke around the spider-webby Susan psyche may find some (Read: Most) of my other posts a wee wonked and way more info than they’ve ever wanted about me. This is my blog so I’ll post if I want to, post if I want to, post if I want to.

If a guest topic brought you here – welcome. If you want to poke around some, you’re welcome to do that too but consider yourself warned.

I curse. And things.

The topics…

The assumption buster: look at something people often ASSUME to be true, show the assumption in action (so it’s not a disembodied, unproven “accusation”of sorts), and then bust it from ML C. – Done 5-3-20

Social distancing from Rob S. – Done 5-9-20

Horror movies: best and worst tropes and themes; scary things as a mechanism of comfort from Sarah G. – Done 5-23-20

Why don’t we call it ‘physical distancing’ and then apply that to how people drive? from PJ R.

A piece on awareness of how many people out there share one’s name. Speculation/fantasy about what their personalities and lives are like. I’d say google your name and see if other Susan Frys would allow you to interview them, but in this age of scammers (especially at times of heightened risk such as now), that’s probably not a good idea, hence the imagination. Perhaps a dialog between imagined Susans – from Marcia B.

How one-person performances from home could be combined to make a harmonious whole. I’ve seen a dance video of exactly that! from Nicole S.

Best and worst lists about things you’ve done in your life. The Faire, being in business for yourself, the AirBnB gig, ghost hunting, etc from Cathy C.

Best dance offs in history from ML C.

Why teachers need to cut their students AND their parents some slack during our “remote learning” phase from Joyce M.
