I love being in ‘show mode’. This is when that fabulous exchange between Henslowe (played by Geoffrey Rush) and Fennyman (played by Tom Wilkinson) from Shakespeare in Love is epitomized.
Henslowe: Mr. Fennyman, allow me to explain about the theatre business. The natural condition is one of insurmountable obstacles on the road to imminent disaster.
Fennyman: So what do we do?
Henslowe: Nothing. Strangely enough, it all turns out well.
Fennyman: How?
Henslowe: I don’t know. It’s a mystery.
Granted, this is nothing like the scale of a “real show” but the effort and care is still there. And the mystery is still the same. So’s the wonder.
Can I have an Amen?
Significantly,
Susan Scot Fry
Update…
The mystery is still just that. OH, and it still works. Just like that. I had almost as many amazing “so-and-so volunteered to do this or to help with that or to donate those…” yesterday as there were things left on the list to do.
How come? It’s a mystery.

Amen!
