Today is my day off. As soon as I get a little bit of work done. Then, I’ll be off. We’ll take the dog for a nice long walk. Read my book. Maybe see a movie. Rake some leaves. Go explore some haunted places. BBQ. Yes, we BBQ in all weather. Go to the library. Call my best friend. Drive around a look at RV’s. Visit. Dream.
A day off isn’t about sitting around doing nothing. I’ve tried that and it’s boring and achy. The fairy tale image of being curled up in front of the fireplace with a warm mug of something and a book is only as enticing as a Kincaid painting. First, I need to get exhausted and filthy. That’s glorious.

Update… Some yard stuff, long dog walk by the river, the Harry Potter movie, lunch for under $10 (for both of us) at a great new pizza place, hanging out with a friend, grilled blackened salmon for dinner, and couple episodes of Deadwood. What a great day off.
