Spending money has taken on a new meaning for me in the last few years.  Every penny comes from the sweat of our personal brows and not from an employer. Sure, there’s someone paying one of us to do something or other, but independent contract work is different.

In terms of spending it, it does make a huge difference knowing there’s not a back-up supply – aka a salary.  Not that any salary should be taken for granted – far from it.  But today, I’m joining in with some friends and going to a big old rummage sale.  This is year 3 of an annual tradition.  I remember wondering last year if we’d even still have our house the same time next year.  And, we have.

We’re far, far, far from secure.  But, we’re on the path.  And we still have our house.

Miracle.

Off to the rummage.

Significantly,

Update… It feels great to feel like we’re making it.  Talk about a shift from an attitude of scarcity to one of plenty.  No, the realities haven’t changed, but I feel much more like I can make some things happen when I work from this base.
